Hurry! Cast Your Vote.

I was going to post on something that was in the Times- Standard today, but they haven't updated their web page yet so I decided against it.

In the meantime, hurry on over to the Buhne Tribune, if you haven't already been there, and participate in his latest poll. Hurry! It closes in less than 24 hours. It asks who's the most full of c**p, and lists our very own Hank Sims, and some Anonymous poster to one of the local blogs.

I don't really understand what they're all talking about or why they would pick on Hank, but what the heck. Polls are almost always fun.

Besides, the pleasant banter in the comments section of the Buhne Tribune always leaves one with such a peaceful, happy feeling, it's one of those places you just have to visit each day.

Yeah everybody! Hurry on over to the Buhne Tribune! We gotta support our good buddy Hank!

Hank and I are best friends, and if you don't know what kinda guy Hank is then you don't know jack shit.

Hurry, like Fred says -- vote early and often!

To vote often, just log out and log in again, so you can vote with a new IP address each time.

So you visit it everyday, Fred? That's funny, you don't post under your own name very often.

Are you also Bill G? He sure sounds like you. Either that, or you sound like him. I'm not sure which. But I bet you're quite a few of the Anon. comments too, huh Fred?

Ah, how nice. The pleasant banter from Buhne Tribune has come to this blog.

And yes, 1:20, I do visit the Buhne Tribune everyday. I don't post there very often, but when I do, it's always under my own name.

Sure Fred. Whatever you say.

Say Fred, since you've got Anon.R's blog linked in your "Other Local Blogs" sidebar, you'll probably love this quote from your good buddy, Anon.R.mous:

"Guess what, I hope they kill more kids, I hope the bodies hit the floor in piles so damn high your little left-wing mind explodes into a urine-filled rage."

Isn't that great, Fred? Anon.R.mous is a buddy of yours, isn't he.

Oh, I don't know. It seems to fit in with the context of the conversation, huh...I mean, argument you two were having on his blog.

I've never met Anon.r. We have had some pleasant exchanges here and on other blogs, though.

Fred,
That's some amusing discussion. Leonidas is pleased to not have a dog in that fight ANYMORE. It sure is fun to watch the inmates twist in the wind though. Have a nice day!

So Fred, do you often have pleasant exchanges with guys who enjoy the thought of kids getting shot by American soldiers?

How about you, Fred? Do you enjoy thoughts like that?

I don't understand! Fred's goodness continues to confound our dark magic!! His goodness radiates like the sun and not even the most vile of creatures can withstand his light!

Fred, your lame little mind is delusional. You're talking to an anonymous person there. That means you don't know who they are. Therefore, you cannot assume they "throw themselves behind" any label, pacifist or not.

You keep doing the same thing Bill G keeps doing -- falsely identifying anonymous people, and putting your labels on them, and then attacking the labels which YOU have put on them.

The reason you and Bill G do this is because you are both exceedingly stupid. You are both incapable of rationally arguing issues on the basis of those issues themselves. Therefore all you can do create straw men and then knock them down, as another commenter so aptly put it on Buhne's blog.

But I know this will just bounce off your head, Fred, or go in one ear and out the other. Trying to talk to you is like trying to talk to someone who isn't quite all there.

The thing is, you don't have the balls to do anything, you are nothing more then a huge passive-aggressive chicken-shit.

Buk buk buk chicken little. I'm gonna label you "flaming pussy".

Yeah, you're going to do whatever turns you on, dirty psychopath. But you just better stay away from people's children.

You definitely need to be institutionalized.

3:55 -- "So Fred, do you often have pleasant exchanges with guys who enjoy the thought of kids getting shot by American soldiers?

Fred -- "No more than you do, hoping someone will die."

You are being very devious, Fred, trying to make two very different things seem alike.

3:55 asked you if you enjoy the same thoughts as your friend Anon.R.mous, thoughts of mass murdering children.

And you equated that with the person who said that Anon.R.mous needed to have happen to him what Anon.R.mous said he didn't mind happening to children, "putting a bullet in their brainpan", as he put it first.

And remember, your friend Anon.R.mous also said:

"Guess what, I hope they kill more kids, I hope the bodies hit the floor in piles so damn high your little left-wing mind explodes into a urine-filled rage."

Do you see the difference, Fred? Your friend Anon.R.mous is psychopath who says he hopes children will be mass murdered. In contrast, the the other person said only that Anon.R.mous therefore deserved to be shot too.

The other person did not say they liked the thought of children being mass murdered. Your friend Anon.R.mous said that, Fred.

And this really makes me wonder why you are on friendly terms with this demented, evil psychopath, Fred. Why don't you criticize his insane statements? Why do you defend him?

Since you defend such a violently sick person, Fred, one must assume that behind your banal, fake-innocent facade, you are actually a very sick person too.

Oh good lord, you are grabbing at straws and trying to change the subject. Go ahead and use me as your lighting rod. And we also don't use the term "psychopath" anymore. I would however state that you not only are passive-agressive, but you seem to also show signs of borderline personality disorder. You need to take a break from the computer.

I do find it funny, in a sad way, that you care more about Iraqi childern, then the local childern around here who suffer from issues as well. Maybe you should stop trying to be "oh pity Iraqis" and start taking care of the kid down the street, after all, a child in Humboldt County is much more likely to be abused sexually then a child in war torn Iraqi.

But keep up the good fight of "not my president, no war for oil, nader 2000!" You are really working to change the world, with your words on a on-line forum. Good job, I bet you are really proud of yourself. You sure told us off!

Interesting that the post above (5:04) wasn't posted by me here. That was a comment I made, I believe, on Anon.r's blog earlier on yet the anons copied it and posted it here to make it look like I posted it here.

Interesting, indeed, that whoever started this nice little chat, and whoever is supporting him or her, not only posts anonymously but also makes phony posts, as well.

Such a waste Pogo. Those infants would make a worthy sacrifice for Astaroth. The sacrifices will continue! There are many gathering places for I and my sisters to conduct the rituals, and if some passerby happens upon us they too are sacrificed. What do we do with the bodies you ask? We practice cannibalism, nothing like hearing the terrified screams of a sacrifice when we tear into their quivering flesh. ALL HAIL ASTAROTH!!

I think people would be nicer if they posted under their own name. Something about being anonymous seems to breed these strange venomous, filthy, aggressive ranting attacks.

It's fun to be anonymous, but there oughtta be a level of respect and decorum that rules the day.

You wouldn't talk to Fred or anon.r.mous that way if we were all sitting around the coffee shop discussing the world's problems.

9:57 said, "You wouldn't talk to Fred or anon.r.mous that way if we were all sitting around the coffee shop discussing the world's problems.".

Yep. Probably not.

Another thing about internet type chat and e-mail: You don't really know exactly how someone is saying something because you don't have the advantage of seeing the person, how he acts physically, the inflection in his voice and such.

So, someone could write something here that could sound really aggressive, if only because of the words he used, when he's actually just trying to make a "peaceful" point in a calm way but fails because of the words he uses and the way he puts them together.

If the same conversation were taking place by people talking in person, there might be less misunderstanding. Not that I've seen a whole lot of that here, but there's probably more of a potential for it here than in speaking person to person.

That said, I'm amazed at some of the hostility I've seen in comments on some blogs. I wonder if that's because of the anonymity factor, or is it because aggressive and hostile people seek out blogs to lash out at other people because they CAN do it anonymously.

Almost of of those " which came first...chicken or the egg?" things.

I remember an experiment shown on 60 minutes where people were told to zap another person behind the glass.

Don't remember much of the details but the difference in the frequency and length of the zaps when the subject was anonymous was striking.

But, there's also freedom here in being anonymou. Maybe it reflects a loss of freedom on other fronts.

Interesting that the 5:04 comment shows up in the post-a-comment page with your profile picture on it, Fred.

If it's a forged comment, how did they do that?

Also, it was posted 2 minutes after your 5:02 comment, which also has your profile picture. Is the 5:02 comment also forged?

Most interesting of all, Fred, is the fact that you are evading the question posed by the 3:55 comment regarding Anon.R.mous:

"And this really makes me wonder why you are on friendly terms with this demented, evil psychopath, Fred. Why don't you criticize his insane statements? Why do you defend him?"

Well, Fred?

1:25 says, "Interesting that the 5:04 comment shows up in the post-a-comment page with your profile picture on it, Fred. If it's a forged comment, how did they do that?".

The 5:02 comment is mine.

I don't know how they do that as I've never tried to pose as someone else. Someone did the same thing with me on either Anonr or snolly's blog some time ago, somehow using my name and photo in a comment.

Some time ago on this blog, someone showed how you could pose as someone else by starting a phony profile, but they didn't use a photo. I suspect all they'd have to do is start a phony profile and use someone else's photo for their own.

As far as that comment coming in just two minutes after mine, that's easy to do, although I don't know how you set up notifications of when posts are made here.

I'm often surprised how quickly some comments are made after I post something. I'm guessing they use one of those web applications (I think blogspot has one) that informs one of when a blog is modified.

That seems to be what's happening with our latest vistors.

1:31 writes, "And this really makes me wonder why you are on friendly terms with this demented, evil psychopath, Fred. Why don't you criticize his insane statements? Why do you defend him?"

I don't know that I am defending him. His statements seem no more bizarre to me than some of the ones you make. Even your "this demented evil psychopath.." is a bit out there.

What's even more curious is how you become obsessed with something someone says and then seem to spend the greater part of your day cyberstalking them and trying to continue the conflict.

That's kinda scary. I wonder if that's one of those things we discussed earlier on here: Do you do that only BECAUSE you can post anonymously, or is it something that just comes out in you after you started posting anonymously and it gave you a sense of empowerment you never felt before?

Which came first: The chicken or the egg?

Thank you Fred. These posts can be truly enlightening on the degeneration of the 'Humboldt" mindset. The idea that this garbage is in people's heads and comes out either because they can blog anonymously or because they get empowered during their anonymous blogging doesn't really matter to me. What is truly troubling is that there is so much anger and intolerance. So much for a liberal community! Seems thats only a fashionable word to pin on a lapel and give one the ability to go on hating and ridiculing those they disagree with.

Fred, you are so twisted it's hard to even know where to begin to untangle your lies.

Where do you get the idea that anyone is "cyberstalking" Anon.R.mous? I don't see that happening to him anywhere. You are just totally making that up.

And you say Anon.R.mous' statements are "no more bizarre" than those who are criticizing him? I haven't read anything even remotely as bizarre as Anon.R.mous saying he hopes they kill more children.

You are truly a sicko, Fred. You are a living example of that saying: "the banality of evil".
